The Role
- Lead and develop the design and bid team with the relevant service / product / business knowledge required to prepare winning bids
- Own the bid process from qualification through to contract award
- Ensure our bids are compliant, competitive and attractive to our clients

- Implement and continually assess all necessary bid procedures, governance, and processes
- Attend and run weekly bid/no bid meetings, recording all opportunities and meeting outcomes
- Allocate and co-ordinate Design resource to ensure the timely preparation of bids
Job Description
- Manage multiple stakeholders to challenging deadlines across all aspects of ourbusiness, both internally and externally
- Provide valuable input into opportunity qualification, win strategies, commercial discussions, and solution design
- Undertake technical reviews of bids to ensure compliancy and alignment to available bid intelligence such as budgets, solution preferences etc.
- Develop and maintain Commercial Awareness within the design team to ensure bids are aligned to specifications, are value engineered whilst remaining compliant, and capture all project/technical risks as part of the design process
- Promote innovation and alternative options in our bids to help ensure we maximise our opportunity to get in front of the client
- Support Design & Sales in the production of bid support materials including written quality responses, Programmes of Work, Risk Registers, Resource Schedules, Implementation Plans etc.
- Develop relationships with all key approved equipment suppliers and manufacturers to maximise the support we receive and the opportunity referrals we receive
- Assist Sales in the development and delivery of presentations/proposals to customers at pre and post tender stages
- Maintain a live log of “Work in Progress” recording all key bid data
- Maintain a live “Bid Planner” covering current resource allocation, anticipated bidtimelines, key meetings, surveys, holidays etc.
- Review and collate all bid data and produce a monthly management report for the CTO that presents team performance, team issues, bid status etc.
- Establish a process for regular team appraisals designed to optimise performance and professional development.
Qualifications, Knowledge and Experience Required
Essential:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the Security Industry
- Demonstratable experience across all electronic security disciplines with strongunderstanding of design architecture, dependencies, and product integrations
- Ability to drive progressive security system design and services, with a highdependency on IT centric architecture
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent writing skills
- Excellent appreciation of the Commercial aspects of the design and bid process
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Desirable:
- Good understanding of associated disciplines including general electrical installation, cabling and civil works
- Knowledge of the main contractual documents used in the M&E electrical services (security market)
- Experience of customer support/account management
- Qualifications or demonstrable experience of IP network design and deployment
